According to the US Department of Veteran Affairs, 16,112,566 American servicemembers proudly served their country in World War II. 670,846 servicemembers were wounded during this service. 405,399 servicemembers (including 78,750 Missing in Action) sacrificed their lives in service to their country and the world in the pursuit of freedom.
